We know waiting for a bed (we often have 10–15 patients on the waiting list) can be stressful. Our specialized team of nurses and caregivers provides support even before admission. We can offer initial support, adherence check-ins, and essential primary healthcare services to keep your condition stable until your time for inpatient care arrives.

For our patients recently discharged from Othandweni, we provide intensive, structured follow-up. Our primary goal is to reduce re-admissions by ensuring you manage your recovery seamlessly. This means checking in regularly to make sure you’re taking your ARV treatment correctly and addressing any emerging complications immediately.

Our trained team offers more than just follow-up. We extend our primary healthcare services right into the community. This includes providing HIV testing, TB & STI screening, and counselling not just for the patient, but also for their families, caregivers, or neighbours. We also handle referrals to essential social services, ensuring the whole support network is strong.
Recovery doesn’t end when a patient leaves the Unit. For those who recover sufficiently, we provide intensive adherence counselling and monitor their progress through our Patient Home Visit Programme. This dedicated follow-up ensures their health and recovery journey is continuously supported.
