HACT’s 24-bed In-Patient Unit, affectionately known as Othandweni, is a beacon of hope in KwaZulu-Natal. We provide round-the-clock respite and palliative care to both children and adults facing advanced stages of AIDS or cancer. As the only facility of its kind in the province, we offer critical care when mainstream services are inaccessible.

Recovery doesn’t end when a patient leaves the Unit. For those who recover sufficiently, we provide intensive adherence counselling and monitor their progress through our Patient Home Visit Programme. This dedicated follow-up ensures their health and recovery journey is continuously supported.
